What if I buy ipods in the U.S. and bring them to another country and sell them for profit?
I am going to Argentina soon and was planning on buying several ipod shuffles so that i can sell them over there. This isn't the purpose of my trip, but I might as well make some money while I'm there. Basically my question is if I do this will I have to pay taxes on it to Argentina since I'm technically importing goods with intent to sell them? This is assuming they search my bag and find the ipods of course. Also, how likely am I to get searched? In all the times I've been there I've never had my bags searched but this is the first time I'm going as an adult so maybe I'll look more suspicious. Any insight from people who have been to Argentina and especially from people who have brought items there to sell them would be greatly appreciated.

They most likely won't check your bags! and if they do just say that the Ipods are gifts or something like that!

Technically it is illegal but a lot of people do it. You probably won't be searched but if you are and they are in the boxes you could have some problems. You could get rid off the boxes or say they are gifts. Just know you are taking a slight risk, most likely you won't have problems.

I know a guy who lives in Argentina and his friend brings a new camera in each time. He can basically sell it second hand for what it cost in the US. He uses this to try out new cameras but never really makes any money. Also there are fines if you get caught - you can only bring in 1 video camera, 1 DSLR and 3 hard drives or something from memory too, otherwise you have to pay a tax. I also wouldn't know how to go about selling them and what the cost on your time etc would be.

Thinking of buying a ticket but not sure whether I should just pay the extra money for another airline since I've heard such terrible things. Is it really that bad? I'm flying out of DCA (Reagan) if that makes a difference...

I agree with Maricris. I don't know who would possibly bad-mouth LAN. I fly them every chance I get. If you're used to flying the main U.S. airlines, you'll love LAN.... more seating space, better food, better service. I'm from Texas and live in Argentina and have taken the Miami to Bs.As. route and Miami to Santiago Chile route on LAN many times. They've always been great. As a matter of fact, many times, when you buy an American Airlines ticket, the flight is operated by LAN and vice versa. I'm always disappointed when I end up on an AA flight instead of a LAN flight. My advice is to try it, relax and enjoy the ride. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I got a letter from Getty about 1 week ago asking for me to take down two images I had on my site or pay the owner $1500 for the both of them. I took down the image ... I had no idea because the site we designed by a firm in Argentina. Now they are asking for money for having the image on my site for three months. Now I am a US Citizen living in Mexico for the last 5 years and I make my money online then deposit it into my US Bank account and have no plans of every moving back to the states. My questions is what is the worst they can do to me?

Oh YES! There is plenty of money to be made in the adult industry....I'm cashing in on it too! I started my own two websites plus I sell clips. Its great extra money but after 6 months to a year it could be your FT job if you work hard at it.

what job should i get for the summer?
i am working now in a clerical position, only making about 7.35/hr. however, i want a job this summer that pays more and gives me a lot of hours so i can save money to fly to Argentina. I live in Virginia Beach, Va.

I would say your best bet would be to go apply at your local wal*mart I know I live in WV and they start you out at $9.00 an hour and give you a raise after you have worked there for 90 days.
