i am 50 years old married 7 years ago whit a good american guy thinking to started my life in usa. I'm from
Buenos Aires a middle profesional clase and understand time ago how dificult is for me to fit in american cultura is a really a bad dream because the isolote life style . I was a professional in my country and losed also this identity. Anyway is a badmare, lifestyle,people, relationship,family, profession ,lenguage arepass in my life.. I'd like to find an activity that give me chance to be whit more european latin people whit my uniersitary eductation, but i wont to come back to study because my english is really bad as you can see it, will take 5 years and also I am not 18 years anymore to start that pass again. I'll like to find an activity related whit my humanities profession that give the freedom to manage my time and make money in mjy area orange county ca. I'd like to sell or teach something but because my basic english is dificult to have access to american people. how to live in to countries so diferent and be happy? I 'll I'd like to find independient activity .

dont worry. your husband takes care of you. you can live happily here. ask him to help with the culture for six months. later there is no problem. it will be good here

are there any types of groups you could join? Maybe something with a Spanish Heritage? Maybe ask around--even the chamber of commerce is a good place to get information from.

Where are you located in the US? I know in California there are a lot of organizations and clubs that you could be part of. Try to volunteer somewhere. Also if you are just yearning to get back in touch witch people from there try finding a website where you can chat with people that are from your background. Also if you are just looking for friends possibly you can post on Craig's list looking for a friend from your culture. Good luck!

Hola yo vine a estados unidos hace 6 anos... y mi mama todavia no se acostumbra a esta vida que es tan differente...mi mama dice que este tipo de vida es para gente que le gusta estar aisolada...por eso nos regresamos a nuestro pais natal... xq mi mama extrana mucho a su familia =] trata de hacer nuevos amigos y distraerte por ejemplo ponte en clases de ingles donde vas a tener oportunidad de conocer a gente que esta igual que tu =]

Hobbies and Friends. What I mean is that you're in a busy place, so why are you isolating yourself? It sounds like you're intimidated by the language barrier (between your Country and English language). You need to find some fun hobbies AND some new friends. It's always difficult starting out in a new place, where you don't know anyone. With your language barrier, you might feel that you can't make friends, because you won't understand them or they won't understand you. Why don't you post on Craigslist.com for your area for some female friends that speak your language......or go speak to your local parks a rec department head about TEACHING classes with your native language. You can also TAKE local clases with your park and rec department OR your local college campus. The thing is to get out and make friends, so you don't feel so isolated. And congratulations on your marriage. You found a rare treasure in love and I'm very happy for you. The rest will happen, just give it time...and get OUT of the house and find things that are fun for you.
