How does this make you feel 2 illegals, 1 accused of killing 15-year-old sister-in-law -1 kidnapping minors?
CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A man has been sentenced to serve 20 years in prison for a kidnapping plot which happened two years ago involving two Cornelius girls. Ruben Garcia-Rosario, 27, of Mexico, was sentenced Tuesday to 20 years in a federal prison followed by 20 years of supervised release. He has also been ordered to register as a sex offender. Garcia-Rosario pled guilty on July 23, 2009 to attempting to kidnap the two girls. Officials say he was planning to kidnap the girls in exchange for ransom money from the victims' family. According to the US Attorney's Office, in September 2009, Garcia-Rosario asked for help from his wife, Linda Gonzalez, who resided in Edinburg, Texas, in writing a ransom note demanding money from the family of the minors. Garcia-Rosario promised to pay his wife $10,000 for her assistance. The ransom note threatened to kill the girls if their family failed to pay the ransom amount. Between September 9 and September 23, 2009, the US Attorney's Office says Garcia-Rosario drove his car to an elementary school bus stop in Cornelius and observed the two girls as they were waiting for their school bus. On at least one occasion, Garcia-Rosario took pictures of the girls using his cell phone while the girls where waiting for their bus. In September 2009, Garcia-Rosario also tried to retain the services of a translator to assist him in communicating with the family of the girls regarding the ransom note.http://www.wbtv.com/Global/story.asp?S=14393829 Today a judge set bail at $1-million for Carlos Cardenas, the young man accused of raping and killing his 15-year-old sister-in-law. If someone posted the $1-million dollar bail, Cardenas would remain behind bars. He is considered an illegal immigrant and the federal government has a "retainer" order against him. The Albion man was arraigned in Orleans County Court Wednesday afternoon. He was supposed to be arraigned on Monday but no translator was available. Investigators say Cardenas confessed to strangling his wife's sister, 15-year-old Katherine Sanchez. Her body was later found in February in an apple orchard. Police say Cardenas had sex with the teenager and she threatened to tell his wife, so he strangled her. Cardenas was indicted on two counts of murder. One is for the actual murder. The second charge, felony murder, accuses him killing his sister-in-law while he was raping her. He's also facing two counts of rape. Cardenas pleaded not guilty. Cardenas walked into court in a thick pin stripped jail jumpsuit. It looked like he was wearing a protective vest underneath. When Cardenas walked into town court last month, he was hit by his wife and other members of his alleged victim's family.http://www.whec.com/news/stories/S2053046.shtml?cat=566

It makes me feel unsurprised, and that we need to enforce our immigration laws. I can't believe people support these criminals.

the same way this makes me feel. CORSICANA, Texas - Jeffrey Allan Maxwell, the former neighbor and rejected suitor of a Texas woman, has been charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault after authorities say he abducted the 62-year-old woman at gunpoint, and then beat her at his home for 13 days. "This is a horrendous case," Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said in a press release, according to CBS affiliate KTVT. "We are... glad she is getting the treatment necessary to overcome a horrific ordeal." Maxwell, 58, was arrested Saturday in Navarro County, more than 100 miles from Parker County where the woman was abducted, according to authorities. Parker County officials, along with the Texas Rangers, began investigating the woman's disappearance March 3 when her house reportedly burned to the ground and she was nowhere to be found. According to investigators, the woman had been taken from her home at gunpoint, shackled, and repeatedly assaulted, reports KTVT. Officials took the woman to a hospital where she was treated and released. She is currently in protective custody. Authorities say the woman ran out of Maxwell's house screaming when she was rescued Saturday after a tip led police to the suspect's Corsicana home. Fowler says he doesn't know how much longer the woman could have made it. Maxwell is being held in Navarro County Jail, but is expected to be transferred to Parker County, where the investigation continues and further charges are pending

That this is a crime that would not have happened if obama and janet were protecting it's citizens and enforcing laws as they should be. No matter what crimes of Americans they bring up, few Americans are criminals, every illegal is a criminal under the law! And these crimes by illegal aliens are completely preventable if the laws were enforced and these illegals were deported as they should be!!
4 :
It's bad. he belongs in jail, and then he'll be deported. as for the comment blaming Obama and Napolitano, what do you think the chances are this guy entered since Obama became president? who knows how long he's been here? it's not exactly like we had no illegal aliens before 2009.

OMG , UR SO RIGHT !!!!!!!! Would have been so much better had they been U.S born .. How does this make u feel ? There are no words , they will be jailed , then deported after their time is done ( if it is ever ). For everyone of these u post I can post 10 from U.S born monsters .. What is ur point ??

At by anthonta g the point being is if he wasn't here illegally the VICTIM WOULD STILL BE ALIVE. Why should US citizens tax dollars be wasted defending the scum bag who isn't supposed to be here?

Betta Fish checklist - Do I have it all?

Betta Fish checklist - Do I have it all?
Today I have done some mega research, and I feel very confident about my future as a betta owner. My poor Rosario is in his little bowl right now, but it'll all be fixed up soon! I have created a checklist of all that I think I will need in order for me to do this right and for him to be happy. But I would really love it if you all could take a look and tell me if what I have picked out is appropriate. I will provide links and names. =) Overall Set up - 10 gallon glass aquarium; the ones you find at Walmart. It has been used before and held up well. Not in bad condition at all, just a few waterspots. (I already have it.) - Hood: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3730+13447&pcatid=13447 OR http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3730+3792&pcatid=3792 I'm sort of against the last one because of how small that stupid door is, and because it doesn't mention if there is a cut out for a filter or heater. It doesn't need to come with a light. - Filter: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=3940 I'll be going with the Biofilter 3, since it is for tanks up to 15 gallons. (But I find it weird that they are the same price...) - Air Pump: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod_Display.cfm?pcatid=3724 I'll be getting model # 50. - Vinyl Airline tubing: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod_Display.cfm?pcatid=6124 Which and how much should I get? The price jumps from $2.59 to $38.99, then $5.99. I don't think I'll need the $38.99 one... - Heater/Thermometer: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3635560 Is this good? I think it says it includes a thermometer, but it may just be referring to presetting temps. -Gravel: I have gravel that is still in that aquarium I'll be using. It's been outside for a long time, and it isn't the whitest gravel around anymore... Should I just go ahead and get new gravel? - Decorations: I'll get these as I roam around PetSmart and Walmart. Cycling - Ammonia & Nitrite testing kit: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+4345+13524&pcatid=13524 Since a nitrate testing kit isn't exactly mandatory, I don't think I will be purchasing it unless I magically find extra money lying around. :p - Pure ammonia - Computer on how to go through with the fishless cycling process - I do have an established tank, so should I take anything from there and put it in my tank, like some gravel? If so, how much? Other Information The reason I don't need a light is because I have enough light in my room for my betta to have a sense of day and night, and I won't be keeping live plants at first. Later on, I would really like to get live plants and eventually a light to add to the hood. I read that a reading/desk lamp would suffice for providing enough light for the plant, right? And I read from many sources that bettas don't NEED a light directly over them in their tank. Also, I am on limited funds, since I am only fourteen years old. I am too young to have a job to make money, so I won't be able to afford the most top notch things for Rosario, but I am going to do whatever I can to get him what he needs. I do have some money and plans right now to pay for this, but I might still spend a little more than I have. (I could sort of pay my mom off with $175, but it's a tad confusing on how it would all work. xD Sometimes she is generous and will just let some of it slide if it's cheap) Anyways, if you have suggestions of cheaper, but still efficient products PLEASE let me know! (Especially the tank hood!) To anyone who is actually taking the time to read all of my post, I can't thank you enough. I want to do this right and need all the help I can get, and opinions so I don't start ordering products that work like poo. Black Kat - Oops! I forgot to add dechlorinator and siphon to the list because we already have both of those things for the other tank, so I figured I could just use that. I'll be sure to get a thermometer. ^^ Whitney W. - I will most likely have to get a hood because my cats like to come in my room when my rats are in their cage. I can keep it off whenever my cats aren't in my room though, so I suppose the small door isn't an issue. Just as long as it has the cut-out and provides a bit of protection. My other tank is 26 gallons I think, so I can definately get some water from there and put it in to try and jumpstart the bacteria growth. ;) TetraLin - A lot of people are starting to do fishless cycles now, and there are lots of things about it that show up on google. The high amount of ammonia and nitrites are really bad for the fish, as I'm sure you know, and result in death or a shorter lifespan. I really don't want to hurt him any more than he has been in this life. -Cont- I'll see if I can get some Prime and add stuff from my other tank into this one to help it all, and maybe I can add him into the new tank sooner.

sounds good. very nice and elaborate. to be honest i did not look at the links, but it seems you are a very caring pet owner. hat tank could hold more than just a betta(perhaps some tetras...)you ddon'treally need a hood.....just keep the water level lower.no, the old gravel is fine.to be honest, the ammonia and nitrite stuff IS pretty unecessary unless for finicky fish.....or delicate, sensitive ones.Betta'swill do fine pretty much anywhere.just use the same water from the established tank is fine.also, dont get an air pump if the filter makes bubbles.it is just a waste, escpecially as a betta can breathe air(they breathe air 1/2 the time and in water the other half)
2 :
It looks like you've put a lot of thought into your list. The only items that I didn't see which I would recommend are water conditioner for removing chlorine, a siphon for cleaning, and a separate thermometer. You might already have the first 2 from your old tank. The thermometer with the heater is just to set the temperature, it doesn't hurt to have one where you can see the actual temperature of the water. Just in case your heater stops working or you forget to plug it back in after a water change. It can happen. Both of the hoods have places on the back that you can cut out or that will pop out for a filter. But once they're broken off, they would have to be taped or glued back on, so be sure of where you want the filter to be before you make the hole. You can look at ads on Freecycle.com or craigslist.com, you might find free or cheap equipment on those. Or read the ads in your newspaper or the papers they have free at supermarkets for selling and trading stuff.

Your check list sounds great! You have it all. I used have two beta fish of my own(in two tanks). I would go with the 5.99 tubing, the heater does not have a thermometer so I would get one and you don't need lots of gravel 1 cm deep should do. Hope your beta fish loves his new home!
4 :
The second hood is sold at Walmart as well (I have it on one of my 10 gallons). It does have cutouts. If you are only keeping a Betta in the tank, you don't really need a hood as they are not jumpers (as long as you don't have cats that like to drink out of your tanks like me ;) ). You could also go with a plain glass hood. If you don't like that one, this one: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2754548 is cheaper than your 1st selection. The filter and pump are fine, and you only need the $2.59 tubing (unless you are planning on placing the pump really far away). Personally, I'd go with an all in one filter like this: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2753028 or this: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2752295 (in the 10 gal. size), both cheaper than the combined price of your pump and filter...but that's me. The heater is fine. Get new gravel. How big is your other tank? You can take about a cup (or more if it's bigger than 10 gallons) and put it under the new gravel (or mixed if it's the same color), that should give you enough bacteria to be able to put Rosario in his new tank in very short order. Kudos to you for wanting to take care of your fish so well!!! Good luck!

Just a few comments. 1) You don't need the pure ammonia. Put Rosario in the tank and he'll provide the ammonia for you. It's not a fishless cycle, and of course, not the ideal, but a bigger tank will help dilute some of the ammonia and nitrite. Just carry out daily water changes of about 15% until ammonia and nitrite read 0ppm and, if you can afford it, get a bottle of ammonia remover such as Prime to keep the ammonia and nitrite away from the fish. 2) Add dechloronator to your list, otherwise the filter will NEVER mature and the chlorine from the tap water will build up in his gills. 3) The nitrate test IS important - for 2 reasons. a) Because it's the end product of the cycle, so without it, you'd never really know when the cycle was complete. And, b) because nitrate is still a toxin - it's still harmful to fish if it's over 40ppm. The test kit you've chosen is the best on the market, but you might find it cheaper to go on ebay and get this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Freshwater-Master-Aquarium-Test-Kit-API-6-Unique-Tests_W0QQitemZ290283755234QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item290283755234&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 It's the same thing, but you get all the tests you need. 4) The heater has a thermostat - not a thermometer. The thermostat reacts to the temperature of the surrounding water and turns the heater on/off. It's still better to get the thermometer :-) As for the hood, I have one for my betta tank, but I only put it on the tank when my brother's dog comes round (mainly because she's out of control), and Hughey's never made any attempt to jump out of the tank. Just keep the water quality as high as possible and provide him with plants/ornaments to hide in, and he should be fine. If you're really worried, get a condensation tray to go over the top. You could get the hood later. EDIT// I'm currently fishlessly cycling a 4ft tank myself so am well aware of the proposed method, and in any other scenario, I would be the first to recommend the fishless cycle. My point was, considering that you have a fish in "a small container", presumably without heater or filter, that you have from your friend the fish will be much better off in a 10gal heated and filtered (if not yet cycled) tank, than in the container he is currently in. Oh - and a tank will cycle on even a tiny amount of ammonia and nitrite. The emphasis on the cycle with fish is keeping ammonia down as much as possible. If you get the Prime, which will bind the ammonia and the nitrite up and keep them away from the fish, there's no reason you can't put him in the tank straight away. Otherwise, he's going to continue to suffer in a tiny bowl until the 10gal is cycled.
6 :
I agree with the above poster, an internal filter like this ; http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3579+3632&pcatid=3632 will be better and cheaper than the air driven set and will be quieter if the tank is where you sleep! You don't need to spend on a hood but can use a sheet of glass or Plexiglas cut to size. A hood is to hold a light and pointless if you aren't using lighting. With a clear top you can aim a desk lamp for visibility for cleaning. Fishless cycling is the way to go but you can use a cocktail shrimp instead of bottled ammonia. In your situation I would forget fishless cycling as Rosario will fare better in 10 gallons of water with daily changes than in a small bowl while the tank cycles. Keep an eye on the readings and keep a bucket of water prepared ready to change. As you already have a filtered tank it can donate some bacteria to the new one. Just squeeze some of the filter gunge onto the new filter.
7 :
i would do without the air pump and tubing (you save $15!!) because bettas are anabantoids meaning they can breath from the surface and don't need air pumps to agitate the water. for the lid, i would get the second one since it's cheaper and the small opening isn't a big problem. the only time i need a bigger one is when i do my weekly water changes and i just simply take the lid off for that. cycling -i would get a nitrate and ammonia tester instead because then you know if the cycling has started (ammonia) and when it has ended (when nitrates chow up) - for the established tank, it'd be best to put one of the sponges into the new tank. that would almost instantly cycle the tank. you could also put as much gravel as you want. http://bettacare101.googlepages.com

Is there going to be a Rosario+Vampire Capu3?

Is there going to be a Rosario+Vampire Capu3?
I doubt it will be since it is way past the date that it was supposed to be aired, which was February 2010. Plus I heard the company isn't making enough money.

Please help me with this hard riddle!?

Please help me with this hard riddle!?
Since Alice's mom insisted that she learn to use a needle and thread, there's been no stopping her. As befits her status as a business major in college, she's begun taking in small sewing projects to earn a little extra money. She's done FOUR such projects for FOUR different people in her dorm, including EVIE and GARY, and charged them each a different amount of money- $5, $8, $12 and $15. Using this information and the following clues, determine: THE ORDER IN WHICH ALICE DID EACH PROJECT THE FULL NAME OF THE PERSON SHE DID IT FOR THE AMOUNT SHE CHARGED FOR EACH Additional Clues -One person's surname is Mendoza -Repairing the inseam on a pair of jeans was so simple that Alice only charged her friend, a guy who didn't sew, $5 -Alice's job making a custom-fit toga for a friend's Halloween party was the second one after a job she did for a person other than Leo -She charged the person with the last name of Hummel more than she charged the person for whom she sewed on a patch -She did the job for Betty just before she embroidered a person's name on a hat, and immediately afterward did a job for which she charged 3 dollars more than she charged the person with the last name of Phillipson -Phillipson and the person with the last name of Schatz are of the same sex, and Alice didn't do jobs for them consecutively, in any order of who was first -Alice didn't do the $12 job for Betty This is the exact wording I took it from a friend.

hmm.. i'm trying. are these the exact words? She did the job for Betty just before she embroidered a person's name on a hat, and immediately afterward did a job for which she charged 3 dollars more than she charged the person with the last name of Phillipson she did betty's job right before the hat, and right after betty's job she did the one that cost 3 dollars more? so the hat would have to be the one that was 3 dollars more than phillipson, right?

What is your opinion on this ICE sting nets 121 gang members 19 guns, brass knuckles, cocaine, crack, marijuana

What is your opinion on this ICE sting nets 121 gang members 19 guns, brass knuckles, cocaine, crack, marijuana
http://www.star-telegram.com/news/story/178437.html IRVING -- They're the most menacing of the menacing in the Metroplex -- violent street gang members who murder, sexually assault children and engage in organized crime. And when a weeklong roundup ended Sunday night, 121 people identified as gang members, including 47 from Fort Worth and 12 from Arlington, were in custody, authorities announced Monday. The federal and local operation also seized 19 guns, brass knuckles and a switchblade, 3.4 kilograms of cocaine, less than a gram of crack, 1 gram of heroin and 1.1 kilograms of marijuana, officials said at a news conference in Dallas. "These are not people you want living next door to you," said John Chakwin Jr., special agent in charge of the Office of Investigations for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Dallas. The roundup was part of a program called Operation Community Shield. ICE is involved, Chakwin said, because past assessments of gang activity have indicated that many members are foreign-born and are in the country illegally, have criminal convictions or are involved in crime along the border. Of those arrested, 63 were on warrants for criminal offenses and 58 were classified as illegal immigrants, Chakwin said. Members or associates of 27 gangs were arrested. The basic strategy of Community Shield has been to disrupt gang activity by arresting and prosecuting gang members and by impeding the flow of money in and out of gangs, officials said. U.S. Attorney Richard Roper said those arrested would be prosecuted "using every arrow in the quiver" or would be deported. "Forty-seven arrests -- that's going to have an impact," Fort Worth Police Chief Ralph Mendoza said. Operation Community Shield Initiated in February 2005, Operation Community Shield is a national strategy targeting violent gangs. Originally the focus of operation was the Mara Salvatrucha organization, or MS13. In May 2005, Community Shield was expanded to include all criminal street gangs "that pose a threat to national security and public safety." Nationwide, since the program's inception, more than 4,500 people from 532 gangs have been arrested. I’m sure Sullivan will make sure they get housed with the imprisoned Border Patrol agents.

Why did the round up end Sunday? They aren't done yet. Hopefully, they will throw tax evasion charges at them. That's what brought down Al Capone.
3 :
They are urban terrorist and should be dealt with by our armed forces....quickly and decisively
4 :
This is the reason the US needs to round up all the illigals and send them back to their home lands. I'm sick of the criminal activity. I wish I was President. If they was'nt born here they would'nt be here.
5 :
When's the next raid!
6 :
Awesome, I hope they keep up the good work!
7 :
This news is very encouraging, these gangs have gotten way bigger than their britches. I hope thay are all deported after serving their jail sentences.
8 :
This needs to be done daily in every state, in every community where illegal aliens gather, until they are all imprisoned and/or deported.
9 :
Looks like a good start to me...
10 :
That is what they are doing in my neck of the woods. The police with out the ICE being involved have targeted predominantly minority neighborhoods..and found MS 13, Folk and Vatos Locos gangs..the main purpose was to identify gang members by taking photographes and checking ID's ....children as young a 8 were involved. Drugs were being sold behind a church, next to a day care, and teen center. I think the local police in every community should be doing this. This had taken place in a small middle class community, where black and whites live together go to church together.. Those that were involved in the gangs are not citizens.

advice on buying 6 month old macbook pro?

advice on buying 6 month old macbook pro?
It's the santa rosa style, matte, and it's six months old. He's asking for 1000 and he paid 2,200 for it originally. is that a good deal? or should I save that money and get either a mac-book (new or white, either one) Please give me your opinions! I'm having a computer technician (a family friend) look at it to make sure there's nothing fishy. And the reason he's selling it, is cause he just doesn't use it, he has a dell touch screen and he prefers that more. there is a warranty 2011! he's a guy i go to school with!

Have him email you the specs on the machine: Disk space, ram, processor speed, rom speed, and anything else that would be important. Give that info to your techy so he knows what he is going to be looking at later on. Ask him about the warranty, for information on any service that has been done to it, what program discs he still has, and double check with him that there is no damage or history of damage to the machine. GET THIS ALL IN WRITING!!!

How do I pay my speeding ticket? (I need specifics)?

How do I pay my speeding ticket? (I need specifics)?
I got a speeding ticket and I need to pay it. The ticket is from the Florida Highway Patrol for 9 mph over the legal limit. I know I need to mail the ticket in and I have the adress, but I'm confused about how I pay. It says "Payment should be in the form of money order or a cashiers check". Then below that it says "Personal Checks are Accepted" and "Make payable to the Clerk of the County Court". I'm confused. This means I can't send cash, right? But I can right a check. Right? But the thing is, I don't know who to make the check out to. I have no idea who the Clerk of the County Court is. I live in Santa Rosa county. Any help?

I would go to court...9mph over does not deserve a ticket. I think the cop was just trying to target you.
3 :
Just make it out to Clerk of the County Court right on the check- usually you can do it on line too. You don't need the clerk's real name.
4 :
Right, you can write a personal check. Just make it out to the Clerk of the County Court. They don't want you to put a specific persons name. They have an acct setup in the Clerk of the County Court so they just deposit it. Make sure you put the ticket# in the comment section of your check.
5 :
Don't send cash at all, send a money order, cashiers check or a personal check to...... Mary M Johnson Santa Rosa County Clerk of Court P.O. Box 472 Milton, FL. 32572 Traffic Infractions 981-5650
6 :
They prefer a money order or cashiers check because they try to avoid bounced checks. Cash is a very bad idea because it could get lost in the mail or pocketed and there is no way to trace it. A personal check is fine just make sure the money is in the account. On the back of the ticket it should say exactly who top make it out to. "The Clerk of the County Court" might be what you write in the space. Since no one here can see the ticket you need to figure that one out. Have you checked to see if you can pay it online? Most tickets you can now. It should say so on the back.
7 :
never sned cash in the mail call the number on the citation and tell there you are out of state. some will take a credit or debit card over the phone.

Real offer on Craigslist?

Real offer on Craigslist?
I am selling my laptop on Craiglists and I have gotten some reply back. There is this one women who replied back to me. I am not sure what to think. I still feel like its a scam though, but thought i ask anyhows. So at first she asked me if it was on sale still and if she could paypal. I said no because I wanted to ensure I got the money so I wouldn't get scammed. Now she writes this. Im not going to do it since it seems to be aiming for my personal information. Re: *Mint* HP Pavilion DV5T Notebook $1100 - $1100 (santa rosa) Hello, How are you and the family doing today? I'm glad you wrote back, I am Lucy Jones, I live in 4191 Convair Road , El Paso. TX { Not too far from International Airport}. I'm very much interested in this, but before we totally proceed i want you to know my method of payment first, because I would not like any confusion here, am getting this for my grand son. I would be making payment using United States Postal Service money order beacuse of all the errors made by other online payment methods..I'm willing to pay $1200 for this. I will handle the shipping effectively through DHL. I am pleased with the price, mean while I'm adding a little more to the price so as to keep other buyers away from them and also get off the Ad on craigslist site where it is placed. I would be glad if I can get this for my grandson as I have promised him this and I would love to fufill my promise..I would also appreciate it if I could get the pictures in your next mail....Please get back to me with you full name, address, phone number and you email address so as to go ahead and make the payment..I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible Lucy If I really wanted to make this work. think putting it on Amazon or Ebay would be better. Ive never sold stuff online so I am unsure what to do

Pretty poorly worded for a native English speaker. "Lucy" is probably a guy in West Africa. Looks like a SCAM to me.
2 :
This is a common scam on craigslist. You should be firm that the only way you will sell your laptop (or anything else on craigslist) is that someone hands you cash (dollar bills, not a check or a money order or something) and you hand them the laptop, all in person. Nothing goes through the mail, and the only payment you accept is cold hard cash. If you have trouble selling it locally, then you could post it on ebay if you are already a registered user and you understand how ebay works.
3 :
Don't do it. Most likely the "money order" will be fake and you will be out $1,200. If you read the warnings given on craigslist, you will see that anyone offering to pay MORE than you are asking is 99.999999% likely to be a scammer. Deal locally; deal in cash. Good luck.
4 :
It's a fake! I have read about these scams and more at http://www.howtobeatcraigslist.uni.cc seems like most people on Craigslist are scammers. I wouldn't mess with that place.

What happens to your puppies when you sell them, and don't care who to...?
I HOPE THIS HELPS AT LEAST ONE PERSON TO UNDERSTAND AND TO STOP! HOLT - A man accused of abusing nearly 60 animals in Holt has been transferred to Okaloosa County where he will make his first court appearance. Robert Money is charged with 32 felony and 25 misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty. He was arrested Wednesday in Santa Rosa County on an unrelated violation of probation charge. Earlier this month, Okaloosa deputies responded to a complaint at Money's home and found what animal control officers describe as one of the worst cases of animal abuse they had ever seen. Eleven hogs, 17 chickens and four dogs were found dead, apparently from starvation. Another 25 animals were near death. None had food or water. The county health department, road department and deputies are still cleaning up the property. Money is scheduled to appear in court in Crestview on August 29th.

We always check out the people we sell our Setters too. Most of them are bird hunters anyway, and we can tell how serious they are about the breed. We use a questionaire for them to fill out when they want to reserve a puppy. I wish everybody did that.

its very irrasponsible when a dog owner gives a person one of their pets and doesnt look into who is receiving them, i have two orphan kittens and i need to find homes for them and i worry about their new home.i cant afford them cause i already have 2 dogs and one cat. people who are irresponsible with animails should not be allowed to own pets and people who give animals to irresponsible people should be found guilty of a crime also..
8 :
How do I know how the new owners treat my babies after the sale..........Well it could be because I am constantly emailing the new owners and calling them. I hate to think I may be a pest, but the prospective buyer is warned about that fault well in advance!!! I never loose a puppy, the puppy gains an additional mommy and daddy. And that is not a load of crap, just email anyone that has any of my puppies. I am a very small time breeder, and I usually have a waiting list due to the fact I have so few puppies per year. That also allows me the ability to keep such extended contact with the new owners, and I answer questions about my babies 24/7.......for life.

This is so sad. He deserves so much more than he'll probably get! GRRRR!

Greyhound bus made a mistake and won't correct it. How do I get it corrected?

Greyhound bus made a mistake and won't correct it. How do I get it corrected?
On September 26, 2009, I ordered a ticket from Greenville, NC to Santa Rosa, CA. After I was done, I received a ticket from Greenville, SC to Santa Rosa, CA. I checked my entry history and it even said Greenville, NC. Now, after many calls and emails, Greyhound has refused to give me a refund or to change the city (if I change it myself, it will cost me about 69 dollars more in addition to credit card charges for overdrawing and I can't refund it because it is a non-refundable ticket). Now my question is this: Is there any way to get my money back or convince them to correct it. It was their mistake and now I have a useless ticket and the only option that greyhound offered is to pay extra. Which means that if they make another mistake, I'd have to do it again, making more money for them and putting me deep into debt. Has anyone had prior experience to this sort of thing? I even submitted a complaint to BBB today. On September 26, 2009, I ordered a ticket from Greenville, NC to Santa Rosa, CA. What I meant by ticket is the itinerary that you get. They won't even give the ticket unless I am in South Carolina-an entire state over. I called them via the phone from their site and email. They refused to do anything and even blamed me for causing the problem. I asked my bank and they said that without a receipt, I can't prove anything so they can't do anything about it, that Greyhound already has the money and I have to resolve this dispute with them.

checked my entry history and print it out show them the ticket and they can look it up as well and check just like you did depends on who you talk with is always someone above them non-refundable ticket its not what you wanted to pay for wasnt what you ordered Greyhound bus link call and complain
2 :
have you GONE INTO a station? and asked? perhaps you could still use the ticket from Greenville,NC they probaly would just rewrite the ticket but they got to SEE IT first by the way did you know greyhound is the worst way to travel but i think you are alreadying ffiguriong that out. too bad you didnt go to the station in greenville to buy the ticket in the first place!
3 :
First, call your credit card company and request a charge-back. Simply explain that the service you ordered was not delivered as promised. Your credit card company will then ask you to send in a written request for a chargeback. Just send in a one-paragraph explanation stating what you wrote here. Include a print-out of the itinerary, a list of people you called and dates/times. Greyhound "delivered" the wrong service and you don't have to pay for it. Second, buy a new ticket from Greenville, NC to Santa Rosa, CA. Go to a bus station if you can, or call 1.800.231.2222 and buy your ticket over the phone if you can. Clearly there was a problem with the on-line service. By your message I guess buying a new ticket might put you over your credit card limit. Don't worry. When the bill comes in just call the credit card company; explain that you requested a chargeback for the original ticket and that it was the purchase of a new ticket that put you over the limit. Ask them to reverse the overdraft charges. They will. Don't bother calling or writing to Greyhound anymore, they do not care about you but you bought your ticket with a credit card so you are protected.

whats does it take to move from ky to ca?

whats does it take to move from ky to ca?
im looking to move from benton ky to santa rosa ca. i know it takes money to make this move, but how much? also i know i should find a place before heading out there, staying at a hotel or whatever would quickly drain all my money. my biggest concern is finding work. i know weather i move in with a roommate or into a place on my own. ill need to prove that i can pay the rent and utilities on time. not sure how to do that when im over 2200 miles away. i really want to be back in cali, i had a good time being out there in 2003 and really want to come back. so any help would be apreciated.

prepare at least $6K, shared with somebody for around $600 rent, and budget control under $1K a month, there are many service job( restaurant, hotel, store) and agriculture job there.
2 :
I would highly recommend having at least 6 months worth of money because if you are moving to California without a job already lined up that is very very risky and, to be honest, stupid. Jobs are hard to come by (I know people who haven't found work in over a year) and even if you manage to find one it might not cover all your bills. California is the second worst hit by the economy in this country and unemployment is around 20 percent right now and those are for people looking for work so there will be a lot of competition. You will be competing with very highly qualified college grads, even for the most remedial jobs. Good luck!

How much money should I save up before moving out?

How much money should I save up before moving out?
I work at Lucky's and I make about $8 - 9 an hour and I plan to rent a 1 bedroom apartment in Santa Rosa for about $800 - 900 a month. How much should I save up?
Renting & Real Estate - 2 Answers

1 :
you can't afford to move there. there are about 250 work hours in a month. if you're getting 8.50 an hour, your monthly gross is only 2125. you can't afford to pay more than 1/3rd of that for rent, preferably 1/4th. lower your sights. *** answer -- six months' rent. it is going to cost you 3 to 4 month's rent just to get into a place and make the required utility deposits.
2 :
Well, you should save up at least $2,500 before moving out, to be on the conservative side. Most apartment required a security deposit that is at least one month rent, plus you need to pay the rent in advance so that is two months of rents there. In addition, you need to save some more money for the utilities (electric, gas, and water (if not included in rent) and furniture. Furthermore, you need to make sure that your monthly income is enough to support the monthly rent, plus your living expenses. For example, if you currently live at home with parents, you probably don't need to pay for grocery, but when you are out on your own, you need to feed yourself, too. Thus, I suggest that you made a detail list of monthly expenses before you consider moving out.

Think you're paying at the pump?

Think you're paying at the pump?
This chart is from CNN's website. Gas prices around the world (in US dollars per gallon). Pretty astonishing collection of data: Gasoline prices in the United States, which have recently hit record highs, are actually much lower than in many countries. Drivers in some European cities, like Amsterdam and Oslo, are paying nearly 3 times more than those in the U.S. The main factor in price disparities between countries is government policy, according to AirInc, a company that tracks the cost of living in various places around the world. Many European nations tax gasoline heavily, with taxes making up as much as 75 percent of the cost of a gallon of gasoline, said a spokesperson for AirInc. Netherlands Amsterdam $6.48 Norway Oslo $6.27 Italy Milan $5.96 Denmark Copenhagen $5.93 Belgium Brussels $5.91 Sweden Stockholm $5.80 United Kingdom London $5.79 Germany Frankfurt $5.57 France Paris $5.54 Portugal Lisbon $5.35 Hungary Budapest $4.94 Luxembourg $4.82 Croatia Zagreb $4.81 Ireland Dublin $4.78 Switzerland Geneva $4.74 Spain Madrid $4.55 Japan Tokyo $4.24 Czech Republic Prague $4.19 Romania Bucharest $4.09 Andorra $4.08 Estonia Tallinn $3.62 Bulgaria Sofia $3.52 Brazil Brasilia $3.12 Cuba Havana $3.03 Taiwan Taipei $2.84 Lebanon Beirut $2.63 South Africa Johannesburg $2.62 Nicaragua Managua $2.61 Panama Panama City $2.19 Russia Moscow $2.10 Puerto Rico San Juan $1.74 Saudi Arabia Riyadh $0.91 Kuwait Kuwait City $0.78 Egypt Cairo $0.65 Nigeria Lagos $0.38 Venezuela Caracas $0.12 In a few Latin America and Middle-East nations, such as Venezuela and Saudi Arabia, oil is produced by a government-owned company and local gasoline prices are kept low as a benefit to the nation's citizens, he said. The wacko european countries end up forcing people to take public transportation and make everyone lived in crowed, rat-raced cities because the governments keep the price of gasoline so high. And, it destroys the economies of small towns by making it hard for people to travel.
2 :
Yes...we are paying at the pumps. We have the ability to produce our own oil, but for some reason there are people in congress who won't let us get it (I'm looking in the Democrats direction).
3 :
Man has the intelligence and mechanical technology and capabilities to invent (and it has been invented) vehicles that burn on natural solar energy, and the reason this hasn't been brought to fruition is because there is no money to be made and money is the reason we stay trapped in using gas for our cars.
4 :
Right, but almost all these countries have comprehensive public transportation systems which are inexpensive and run frequently and reliably. The cities are also constructed much more closely together and in smaller areas, unlike the US, which makes walking and biking much more feasible. A few decades ago, GM illegally purchased all the mass transit systems in the US and systematically shut them down so that people would be forced to buy their cars. That's when our real problems started! GM was slapped with an anti-trust lawsuit but the people responsible were only charged a few dollars each; the entire corporation was fined $1,000.
5 :
FWIW, US gas prices have not yet hit a higher record then that from the early 70's, in inflation-adjusted dollars.
6 :
Dude, what's you question?

The people in Venezuela got it made!

Cruise question? When you go on a cruise, what do you do at the ports if you don't do an excursion?

Cruise question? When you go on a cruise, what do you do at the ports if you don't do an excursion?
My fiance and I are going on our first cruise in August with Royal Caribbean and we are stopping in San Juan, Labadee, and Phillipsburg. We don't want to spend too much money on excursions but the website makes it look like it's $50 just to sit on the beach!! If all we want to do one day is relax, swim in the ocean, and walk around, is that ok? We did book one excursion jet skiing and we might do snorkeling as well. Any suggestions on excursions that you liked?? Sorry, this is long I know. Any info you can give on cruising in general would be great!

Of course you can walk around! I haven't been on a cruise to Phillipsburg, but I've been to San Juan and Labadee. I walked around in old San Juan and in Labadee I hung out at the beach all day! =)
3 :
When you stop you can do whatever you want as long as you are back in time for departure. When I went on a cruise we did one excursion and then the other stops we walked around and went shopping, swam in the ocean, sat on the beach, went to a restaurant, and took a crazy taxi ride. At one of the beaches there was a place where you could rent out kayaks, jet skiis, and you could go on inflatable climbing walls that were about thirty feet from shore. That was really fun. At one stop there was this amazing outdoor mall that we stopped at and another popular activity among kids and teens is to get their hair braided in tiny braids or cornrows. I would suggest maybe one or two excursions and then use the rest of the shore time to explore the area yourselves. -Cruises are amazing. There is so much food to eat and all of it is all you can eat. At dinner be adventurous and try things you normally wouldn't, because if you don't like it you can just order something else afterwards. -Don't worry about bringing towels, the ship will hvae plenty and you can take some with you when you go ashore. -You will get an iterary everyday, look at it and note the things that you want to do. -If you want to go to the spa or salon, book an appointment early as it will fill up fast. Have fun!
4 :
San Juan you can do on your own, depending on what you want to do. Old SJ is interesting, and you can easily walk up to El Morro. Walk back down and take the free trolley to OSJ. Labadee is the cruise line's "private island", so you can hang out at the beach there for free. You wouldn't be doing any true excursions, although they call ziplining, etc. excursions, as you have to pay extra for them. In StM, you can get a cab [of course, this will cost some money!] and go to one of the beaches and just hang out. A relatively quiet and out-of-the-way one is the one near the butterfly farm [can't remember the name off the top of my head!]. There's a beach bar/restaurant there and they rent chairs and umbrellas, but it's not at all busy or crowded, especially if you go "first thing". Arrange for the cabbie to come back for you at a particular time - pay him when you get back to the ship for both rides. You can walk around Phillipsburg for free, of course. Go to CruiseCritic.com, click on "Boards", then go to "Ports of Call" and find these ports for more advice from experienced cruisers. Of course, you can also just stay on the ship and enjoy the "emptiness" of the ship. The spa will have special deals on port days. The casino and bars probably won't be open. If you do go out on your own, you must make sure that you get back to ship on time, because it won't wait for you if you're late unless you are on one of the ship's excursions.
5 :
YES!, that's OK. I cruise Royal Caribbean regularly and can tell you what to do that's not gonna cost you. Whenever you get to any port with any cruise line its your choice as to whether you get off the ship or not. So first is you can stay aboard and lounge around the pools and hot tub. Those things, along with eating places, will be open. The pool bars and a couple others will also be open and some of the on-board activities will be available, like the mini-golf, basketball court, the gym, and a few others depending upon which ship. When you get to Labadee its not gonna cost you anything to do the beach and swim all day. Its not gonna cost a thing unless you want to buy drinks or souvenirs. That is Royal Caribbean's private island stop and you can get off the ship and back on any time you want and you will be right at the beach; bring your own snorkel stuff if you have it. The island (actually a peninsula) is huge with several beaches and there will be plenty of free beach chairs and lots of shade as well as sunny areas. The ship will bring food ashore and serve lunch starting about 11:30ish. The lunch will be a buffet with burgers, dogs, chicken and maybe some ribs, plus salads, deserts, and punch, all free. The island has a market area where you can buy souvenirs and they have the jet ski and other tours available that you have to pay for. When you get to San Juan you would need a taxi or tour to get to a beach. The two main attractions in San Juan other than beach are the Rain Forest; a tour is required, or a taxi, since it's about an hour from the port. You can walk to the Old San Juan, the other attraction, if you ship docks in town (last time there we docked right by the city but there is another dock which is further away.) You can walk through the old city and also walk up to the National Park Service fort, San Cristobal, and El Morro. There is an entrance fee for the fort but you don't need a tour to get there. This web site will give you some guidance for San Juan: http://www.gotopuertorico.com/puerto-rico-old-san-juan.php. In Phillipsburg you will dock very near town. A $4. water taxi will get you from the pier to town and there is a small beach right there. If you want more exclusive and private beaches you'll need a taxi. You can browse the town for a while and then go back to ship and enjoy the quiet as most people will be gone all day long. This link has information about St Maarten and its beaches if that's what you want to do: http://www.st-maarten-info.com/St-Maarten-Beaches/OrientBay.html HERE ARE SOME CRUISING TIPS: The dress on ship is casual all day until 6:00PM, so take: -swim wear (at least 2), shorts, tank tops and "T's", sandals, beach shoes, your snorkel equipment if you have it, sun glasses and sun screen, lotions, a cap or big hat for the sun, -a book if you are a reader, your music player, -your camera and extra batteries, -sneakers and clothes to workout in if you like to use the gym, good walking shoes, and -other personal toiletries including tooth paste, mouth wash or lotions. Your cabin will have towels and soap provided, including pool and beach towels, and a hair dryer. It will also have a generic hair shampoo so you do not need to bring that unless you like a specific brand. After 6:00 PM they request that you wear "sports or resort casual" attire. That's attire that you would expect a person to wear in a business office, (like a bank employee), shirt with a collar, slacks, skirt, blouse, etc. You can still wear shorts and swim wear in the pools and spas but not in public areas like dining rooms and restaurants, show rooms, bars, casino, etc. Don't over pack , take clothes that you can mix and match tops and bottoms and plan to wear each piece twice. Since you are going to the Caribbean you will likely be in shorts and/or swim wear most of every day so evening clothes don't usually get much wear. Your cruise will have two formal nights when you can wear your best stuff and get pictures taken, and maybe meet the ship’s Captain. The formal nights are REQUESTED not required attire. You will not be denied entry to the main dining room if you decide not to dress up, as long as you are at least sports casual. But most people do dress up. A gown or party dress for women and a suit or tux for men. Some people dress up both formal nights, some don't. We always take the formal stuff off after dinner and a photo or two and go back to casual stuff. - Its best to pack using soft-sided luggage because with space limited in your cabin it fits under the beds better if its not hard sided luggage. Pack using the vacuum clothing bags (about $20 for 3 at Target) so that you can get more in your bag AND so that if the TSA at the airport opens your bag they can see what's inside without rummaging through your things. -Take a small carry-on bag for the last night of the cruise. On the last evening you will be required to put

Well you can just go around the island and do whatever until time to leave.
7 :
You can do whatever you'd like. You can stay on the ship, you can walk around the port city, or you can take an excursion. I would suggest that you do not take the ship's excursions. As soon as you get off the ship, there will be loads of cabs with drivers that are tourist guides. They have a great deal of knowledge. They will take you where you want to go, and they cost much cheaper. They will also take you to a beach. There is no reason for an excursion in Puerto Rico. All of old San Juan is 1 square mile. San Juan has free trolleys that run throughout the city up until 7PM. In Labadee, You'll be on a beach, and most everything is free. I took a tour of St. Martin. It was inexpensive, and we got to see the French and Dutch side, with many stops. You could visit the butterfly farm or the botanical gardens. Whatever you do, you should have a wonderful time. I just came back from a Royal Caribbean cruise.
8 :
You can walk view the sites in the cities there is heaps to do even though you don't have a tour. You can stay on board and have the pools or spas to your self. as everyone hops of at ports.

Advice on on a new highschool graduate moving to Puerto Rico?

Advice on on a new highschool graduate moving to Puerto Rico?
I am recently graduated from high school and am planning on moving to Puerto Rico. Without having started my college plans yet, (I plan to eventually attend school in San Juan)I am concerned with finding a job and being able to afford to reside there. I have no family there, and only a little money saved. But I do speak Spanish at a intermediate level. Lastly, I am flexible with my standard of living and willing to work very hard. Is there any advice to make the relocation easier and for me to be able to live there? Thanks.

Hello. I am not going to lie to you & tell you it will be easy because it wont be. But I think it might be a good experience for you. Being young with no family to take care of makes it a good time to try something new. Its good that you speak some spanish because you will need it. Most colleges teach classes in spanish. If your spanish isnt good enough for that, then you should look into InterAmerican University, they have classes taught in english. College is cheaper in PR so that is a plus. You will need to live in the San Juan area if you dont plan on having a car. You can search on clasificadosonline for apartments & jobs. You can get an efficiency apart for $250-400 per month if you dont mind it being small & maybe not in the nicest area. Finding a job will be hard since you probably dont have any job skills yet. But you might be able to find something for minimum wage. Research before you decide & Make sure you or your parents always have enough money for a plane ticket home just incase things dont work out. Good luck :) http://www.clasificadosonline.com/ http://www.metro.inter.edu/englishtrimester/index.htm

if you can find a repair manual online that would be a start. then start with getting it started and running, replace the old gas first then old oil and plugs etc. maybe wires if too old looking and before changing the plugs spray out the carb? when its running THEN the plugs! 2. tires and brake checked and replaced IF needed. tires probably are too old now, ck for tiny hairline web like cracks...replace cause not safe for driving. next the inside last is the body and paint. I'm going to be doing the same on mine too so good luck to you! hope it helped some. No problema mi Imigo soy rudy en los angeles! peace

Open question to people of Nicaraguan descent ONLY: Are the gringos ruining Nicaragua?

Open question to people of Nicaraguan descent ONLY: Are the gringos ruining Nicaragua?
I am a 33-year-old man of Nicaraguan descent and I immigrated to the United States in 1950 exactly one year after my parents fled Nicaragua because of Daniel Ortega and the Sandinista Liberation Front's purge of former PLN members who were still in the country. I have led a happy, fruitful and profitable existence in the United States for my 29 plus years of residing in this great country, and I would have never thought to abandon my adopted home for any other place in the world. But now that there is a possibly undocumented Black president in charge of the United States, who is advocating a form of " socialism " akin very much to early forms of Leninism and could eeriely turn into a form of NATIONAL SOCIALISM ( ala a certain Austrian-born man turned German dictator named Adolf Hitler ), and considering the overwhelming anti-Latino sentiment that is enveloping the United States of America every day, I am sad to say I am looking for more " familiar " surroundings and would prefer to be among people who share I share a common historical, racial and cultural bond with, much like the shared bonds I THOUGHT I had with the Americans, but I see they no longer exist, and quite possibly NEVER HAVE. I have visited Nicaragua Eight times since 1992, the last time being 2008, and I have not only seen the population boom in Managua of Nicaraguans but I have also seen the wholesale colonization of Nicaragua's treasured cities, such as Granada ( where my Maternal grandmother was born ), I have heard of the American and European encroachment into San Juan del Sur, and just yesterday I saw an article on MSN about how the great city of LEON, NICARAGUA is one of the top 5 places in the world for a gringo to retire on his SS pension. Now, seeing as how many gringos have enough money to buy the colonial homes and other parcels of rich and wonderful land has to offer, I cannot truly blame Daniel Ortega and his cronies for pocketing gringo and European cash for such a thing but unfortunately this coming at a high cost for the average, piss-poor Nicaraguan peasant who cannot afford to even live in a house, but rather has to make do with a few wood planks and a literal pot to pee in. When Daniel Ortega and the Sandinistas came into power in 1979, it was only after 15 years of a guerrilla war waged against the admittingly corrupt Somoza regime by the Sandinistas, it's Cuban alliies, the total betrayal of Nicaragua's traditional allies like Costa Rica, Colombia, and Venezuela, and ultimately though the sheer rage, frustration and anger of Nicaraguan " descamisados " ( paying homage to the late great " Reina " de Argentina, Eva Peron ) CAN SUCH A THING HAPPEN AGAIN IN NICARAGUA OR IS NICARAGUA FATED TO FINALLY BECOME A VASSAL STATE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, SOMETHING IT HAS RESISTED FOR OVER 2 CENTURIES IN ESSENCE BUT NOW THROUGH SHEER PART AND PARCEL, THROUGH ECONOMIC SERVITUDE AND ENSLAVEMENT ARE THE NICARAGUANS NOW FINALLY GOING TO BECOME TRUE SLAVES OF THE GRINGOS? Just a thought to ponder. I welcome all replies.

I don't really think it's just gringos ruining Nicaragua...just tourism in general. It kind of messes with any culture. Honestly I didn't read the entire thing and I'm not that familiar with Nicaraguan history.

How do I become a vet tech?

How do I become a vet tech?
Hellooo guys :] So, I've been working at a pet hospital for about 8 months, and have gotten to do all kinds of vet tech stuff. I can't wait to make it my full time career, I've been wanting this since I was a little kid! I know you have to take courses from an AVMA certified college and then take the exam, but I'm not sure of some things, too. Here are some of my questions: I haven't gone to any college at all yet. I'm not planning on becoming a Veterinarian, just a vet tech. Still, should I try to take some science courses at my local community college before enrolling into a vet tech specific course? Do I still have to take college level math and english? There are 2 community colleges in my area with AVMA certified vet tech courses, and 1 more a little out of the way. A lot of the people I work with take credible online courses from AVMA certified sites, such as Penn Foster, and San Juan College. Right now, online college would be MUCH much easier, but I'm willing to wait a year until I can travel to an actual college if it's worth it. What are some pros and cons of both? Will it make a difference? I know veterinarians can become specialists. Is there such thing as Vet Tech Specialists? If there is, what is the wage difference between a vet tech and a vet tech specialist? (I'm not in it for the money, I'm just curious :D) Thanks!

Go take your school transcript and speak with one of the colleges the vet tech course has higher standards to get in so you may not qualify but it is good you are getting experience. They will also answer all the pay questions and explain about specializing yes vet techs do specialize and they do make more money but it is a low paying field IMHO. Vet techs also have to take yearly courses to keep current. Like I said e-mail the college and ask to make an appointment to speak with the chair of the animal health program or wait till the college has a open house, I bet most colleges fill there animal health programs so sign up early to get yourself a spot and be ready for a hard 2 year course.
2 :
The online classes work great. Since you work at the clinic already the vet can check your work and verify it. At least that's how it works where I am. Call them. Good luck!

What can I do to develop a deeper appreciation for travel?

What can I do to develop a deeper appreciation for travel?
I have enough money to take a somewhat decent trip every couple of years. I can buy a $600 plane ticket (give or take) and stay in modest but comfortable accommodations for about a week. I feel like I'm a pretty typical traveler in that way. In the past few years, I've been to Puerto Rico, Montreal, and Spain (Madrid and Barcelona). I enjoyed my trips to varying degrees, but often, I felt stumped as to how to make the most of each trip. I loved Montreal because it was peaceful and pretty, and we lucked into perfect weather. I hated my trip to Puerto Rico because after one historical tour of San Juan and a trip to a modest rain forest, I was totally out of things to do. (No offense if you're from Puerto Rico; I don't mean it was an awful place. I just hated my trip.) Spain was in the middle. I enjoyed touring the royal palace and exploring Toledo as a day trip, but I got very tired of walking around trying to think of things to do in Barcelona. Please note that I am presuming that the problem is largely with me, not with the places I'm mentioning. I want to be one of those people who gushes, "I LOVE travel," or at least, if I am going to travel, I want to get as much out of it as I possibly can. What do you suggest? I like (but don't love) museums, I have a decent appreciation for great weather and natural scenery, and I like trying new restaurants, but I get tired of paying so much money for food by the end of a week. Tell me how I can pimp my trips a little? (You know, as in "pimp my ride." I mean, make the most out of them. :-))

First of all, don't feel guilty because you do not enjoy travel as others do. We are all different beings and enjoy different things. Yet if you want to travel and find that you are not hitting the right spot or activity, sit down, take a piece of paper, make two columns; in the left list all what you really enjoy in life and in the right column list what you don't care for or dislike. Then look in the library and on the web at travel guides and find the places which match your interests. Now look for organizations which support your specific interest areas; you'll find many offer trips also contact a good travel agent dealing with group tours. Travel with other people who have the same or similar interests most likely will enhance your enjoyment.

what to feed live crabs held in a large pen for future sale?

what to feed live crabs held in a large pen for future sale?
I am a 73 year old retiree who has taken upon himslef the challenge of benefitting 12 poor live crab fishermen in a somewhat minus 3rd world environment. A life time small business entrepreneur I have no trouble with the sales and marketing end of the program. It's at the supply end where I am a true grenhorn, having never held a crab in my hands much less eaten one. (burt then if I set up a ladies panties factory I would not excatly whear them, either). In all my past projects I have made a keen effort to learn as much as possible about the product, the production end, the business end..etc. I face the reality that sources of good professional information on live blue and red crabs (UCIDES OCCIDENTALES & CARDOSSONA CRASSUN), are somewhat lacking. I have been drawing informatikon from fishermen, and peope who have been making a living selling crabs (a truly valuable source of sorts but with great limitaitons, as they draw exclussively from empiric observations and assumptions). I fish in Nicaragua where crab fishing is somewhat artisanal and for subsistence (to eat some for daily and neightbors need). In the case of Cardosona Crassun (blue crabs) the most common fishing method is to place a pice of a poisonous tree branch and when the crab comes out to sek food at night, the eat the branch and die. Later they pick up what they need to eat and maybe sell a few and wind up killing indiscriminently. We use my improved versio0n of PVC tube traps placed on the mouth of their burrow. When they come out of the trap, it's an extension of their hole and when they open the trap door and advance the door shuts and they get caught. It's a simple effective method, albeit if it took us much time and money to fine tune the trap. These crabs are notorious for eating just abut anything on their way. Thus we put them in a pen for nearly 2 weeks, to clean their stomachs, release the stress of being grabbed and placed in a crowded bag (often for 3 full days without water and food), and fatten them and strengthen them. The 2 week period is arbritary, from hearsay of alleged crabs experts. We plan to flush clean the pen's floor 4 times a day on the theory that they feed of the floor where they elaso excrete and do not discriminate as to what they eat off the floor On the reasonable assumption that crabs (or humans for that matter) are a reflection of what they eat, we want to prevent as much as possible their eating their own excrement. (In Venezuela, not surprisingly, these blue land crabs are called "shit eating crabs"). Now I turn to a professional chat sorce to see if I can make some basic queries and get valuable informaiton: 1. We use cut up pieces of coconut meat fro two days to clean their stomach. The fat in the coconut will literally give crabs the "runs" and thus theri stomach is cleaned. Then we change the diet fo broken kernekls of dry corn whnich presumablywill fatten them and strengthen them (the later I do on blind faith on what fishermen and crab dealers have told me) 2. As with just about every other species being held in captivity for future sale, (taking for granted that hardly anything I encounter is not a novel and brand new problem) I assume some one may know and have worked on "what to feed these crabs during captity and/or what food suplement I can add to their diet (mixed wiith the corn) as pellets or whatever; to help fatten and strengthen them. 3. A key problem with live crabs i importation, whiah is done by air, is that there as high as 15% mortality rate. My target is that if my crabs are going to die at all, let gthem die in ther homeland and not waste precious money shipping them to Puerto Rico, where buyers assume the costly risk of mortality. To any and all who reads this message please share your wisdom and experience with us. Juan E. Jiménez, Jr. San Juan, P. R. 00907-4310 ronco12340@yahoo.com

Here are some sites that might help. The second and third pertain to other species but might still be useful One thing you can try is to introduce another detritivore to the pens, that would clean up after the crab poop. Some catfish species perhaps.

Why was this racist bank denying illegals aliens an opportunity for better life they found & lived?
Media-Newswire.com) - SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - Four women and one man were arrested on Wednesday in the municipalities of Carolina, Canovanas and Ponce, Puerto Rico, for their alleged participation in a conspiracy to commit bank fraud and aggravated identity theft, following an investigation by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement ( ICE ) Office of Homeland Security Investigations ( HSI ) and the Puerto Rico Police Department ( PRPD ) Band Robbery Division. On Tuesday, a federal grand jury in the District of Puerto Rico returned a 16-count indictment, charging former Doral Bank employee Bethzaida Sánchez Crespo, her consensual partner Abigail Y. Ramos Clemente, Darling M. Rosario Sánchez, Leonardo Sánchez Crespo and Carmen A. Clemente Rosado of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and aggravated identity theft. Bethzaida Sánchez Crespo was also charged with the intent to injure and defraud Doral Bank of approximately $192,000. The indictment alleges that from approximately Dec.14, 2009 through April 2010, the defendants conspired to obtain access to three of Doral Bank's high-balance customers' accounts, change the mailing addresses on those accounts and request the issuance of Visa debit cards, and use those Visa debit cards to withdraw large amounts of cash and make large purchases of expensive luxury items, all with the intent to illegally defraud the federally insured financial institution of its assets. "The identification and arrest of those who try to circumvent our laws, putting at risk public safety, is one of ICE's priorities," said Roberto Escobar Vargas, special agent in charge of ICE HSI in San Juan. "ICE will continue using all its resources to investigate these crimes as well as working with our federal, state and local partners to bring to justice those who think that their illegal actions can go undetected." "The defendants used the victims' monies to pay for their car loans, residential electricity bill and cable television bill. Others bought furniture or just withdrew money from ATMs. It is not acceptable what these individuals were doing," said U.S. Attorney Rosa Emilia Rodríguez-Vélez. "These defendants affected not just financial institutions but ordinary citizens who trusted their savings at a bank, while one irresponsible employee was stealing and using the victims' monies. I want to assure the public that we will not rest until the tide of financial criminal activity is turned." If convicted, the defendants face a maximum term of up to 30 years in prison for counts one and two, fines of up to $1 million, and an additional mandatory term of up to six years in prison for the aggravated identity theft counts. http://media-newswire.com/release_1133429.html
